Lake Cowichan, Youbou and Honeymoon Bay summers are genuinely hot — and most lake homes were built with wood or baseboard heat and zero cooling. A cold-climate heat pump fixes the whole year: real air conditioning for July, efficient heat for the cold snaps, one system.
Full-time residences qualify for the full rebate stack — electric-baseboard homes get $4,000 any-income; oil and gas homes follow the income-qualified tables up to $16,000. (Seasonal cabins generally don't qualify — rebates require a year-round primary residence — but plenty of lake properties are exactly that, and we'll screen yours honestly.) Wood stoves can stay as backup.
We're 25 minutes up the road from Duncan, and we treat the lake like home turf: proper load calcs for big-window lake exposures, placement that keeps the patio quiet, and the rebate paperwork done for you.
