Saanich's classic housing stock — Gordon Head boxes, Royal Oak ranchers, Cordova Bay split-levels — mostly grew up with ducted oil or gas furnaces. That existing ductwork is an asset: a central cold-climate heat pump drops into the air-handler position and delivers whole-home heating and cooling with no wall units at all. Income-qualified conversions run up to $16,000, oil conversions $10,000–$16,000 with tank removal handled and documented by us.
Saanich also pays a $500 municipal top-up on electrical service upgrades — useful, because many of these homes still run 100A panels that need a bump for a heat pump (and the EV in the driveway). Our in-house electricians do the upgrade in the same project, rebated up to $5,000 on qualifying conversions before the top-up.
Basement suites, big lots, mature trees shading placement options — Saanich homes reward an installer who walks the whole property before quoting. That's the only way we quote.
